We are proud to announce that Optym has been chosen as a recipient of the 2016 Florida Companies to Watch Award, following our nomination by the Gainesville Chamber of Commerce! This year, the Florida Companies to Watch competition received over 500 nominations. 87 of those submissions made it to the final round; then, 50 winners were selected. Award recipients were chosen by a panel of judges representing areas of economic development, banking, entrepreneurship, and small business.
The award is part of a GrowFL initiative to recognize the top performing second-stage businesses headquartered in Florida that add jobs, demonstrate continued growth, contribute to our Florida economy, and feature innovative strategies and processes. Second-stage companies represent only 6 percent of the companies headquartered in Florida, yet they generate 30 percent of the jobs. From 2012 through 2015, the companies chosen as the 2016 Florida Companies to Watch winners generated more than $1.1 billion in revenue, and added nearly 1,200 employees! The companies included amongst this year’s winners are introducing new products, services and technologies which give Florida a competitive edge in the global arena.
