Driver Appreciation Week 2021 is September 12-18 and we want to hear how you’re planning to recognize these heroes of the highway.
In a recent survey by the Commercial Carrier Journal, 24% of truck drivers said, “It’s a thankless job – nobody respects truckers or appreciates what we do.” It was the second most popular response to the question, “What is the one thing you dislike most about your job today?” That answer ranked well above “I’m not making enough money.”
Especially after the last year and a half of truck drivers saving our bacon through the pandemic, we know that’s not true.
So we’d like to hear your best driver appreciation idea, and we’ll award prizes for the best three.
Carriers have many methods for showing driver appreciation
It can be simple or a full week of activities; we just want to hear what your company is doing to recognize the heroes of the highway who do so much for us. Some companies provide free meals, onsite barbeques, truck detailing, swag like shirts and caps, and a variety of other types of recognition. Some carriers tie the rewards into safety programs or longevity with the company, and some reward all drivers equally.
